The John Hopkins University defines a phobia as “an uncontrollable, irrational, and lasting fear of a certain object, situation, or activity.”

With that in mind, if you’re unfortunate enough to be confronted with your phobia on a regular basis, then it can really have a destabilising effect on your life.
