The book is set in Hollywood, California, during the Great Depression and follows a cast of characters who are struggling to survive and find meaning in their lives amidst the harsh realities of the entertainment industry and American society at that time.
Pent-up anger, disillusionment, and despair erupts beneath the surface of Hollywood's glitzy facade.
