The excitement is at its peak in the mid-1970s. A radical evolution in music is underway. People want to have fun, go out, and listen to Soul music—and disco is arriving. In the American ghettos, there's a desire to forget the hardship; people create, dance, paint, and sing. It's in the Bronx of the '70s that kids decide to dance to the breaks in soul and disco music. This is the wonderful era that saw the birth of a movement that has influenced my entire life: hip-hop.
