Show Notes

From the Archives! We give a little background to The Donner Party. The Donner Party (sometimes called the Donner-Reed Party) was a group of American pioneers who set out for California in a wagon train in May 1846. Delayed by a series of mishaps and mistakes, they spent the winter snowbound in the Sierra Nevada. The group became infamous for resorting to cannibalism in order to survive , but there's a lot more to their story than that. This episode was originally recorded as part of Yesteryear's News Today, and released in 2015.
