It's understandable to be frustrated practicing medicine in the mainstream insurance model because it is designed around profits. But the alternative is working in the cahs-based system which is still quite young and not very well evolved.
Fortunately, health insurance and healthcare is becoming so unaffordable that cash-based practices are gaining traction. But you must know what you're offering the patient and keep practicing your pitch. In the insurance based system the patient knows exactly whtat they are getting but it's often unclear in the cash-based world. Are you getting one vist? Multiple visits? How much is the follow-up? What if they need a test, will it be astronomical in price?
