Zusammen mit anderen Popstars wie Bon Jovi, Sinéad O’Connor, Paul Young oder Aretha Franklin steuerte Tom Petty 1992 einen Song für das Projekt A Very Special Christmas 2 bei. Für Christmas All Over Again holte er ganze 18 Musiker ins Studio, die den Song live einspielen sollten. Doch es dauerte etwas, bis Tom Petty mit der Aufnahme zufrieden war.
