En 1913, Talaat Pasha era un tercio del triunvirato militar y el líder de facto del Imperio Otomano. Este episodio abarca su alianza con Alemania durante la Primera Guerra Mundial, la batalla de Galípoli y el genocidio armenio. Cuando las Potencias Centrales fueron derrotadas, huyó a Alemania, donde fue asesinado en 1921. En 1922, los Tres Pashas habían muerto.
