While preparing for this arc, I studied up on the Mountain Travel section in Skill Adventures by David Shamp, available from the Genesys Foundry on DriveThruRPG. It gave me some ideas for ways different skills could come in handy during a travel montage and directly inspired the scene with Butterbell the pony almost falling off the cliff.
This arc contains spoilers for the Battle for Wesnoth campaigns Eastern Invasion and Dead Water. There are also references to Northern Rebirth.
