In Episode 10 Jess tells Alex all about the salty underbelly of Detroit, while they sip on some Salty Dog Cocktails. Almost 1200 feet beneath Detroit/Metro-Detroit's surface are the Detroit Salt Mines; miles upon mines of tunnels where workers extract salt in the consistent 60 degree tunnels year round. The mines themselves have changed hands quite a few times during the past 100 years and are no longer open for public tours today. Tune in to hear about the patron saint of minors, how large machinery makes it down into the mines, and what once went down never to come back up again.
