Fill 3/4 with ice, top and shake vigorously until exterior of tin is frosty. Over fresh ice, strain into a basil sugar-rimmed Collins glass. Top with sparkling water and garnish with lemon wheels. *Basil-Infused Gin 🇬🇧 4 oz London dry gin 🌿 5 large basil leaves, torn In an air-tight glass container, add gin and basil. Seal and allow to infuse 6-12 hours. Shake occasionally. ⏰Strain gin and squeeze the leaves to release any remaining liquid. Keep in an air-tight container. **Basil sugar 🌿2 large basil leaves, torn 💙 .25 cup granulated sugar In a small food processor, add sugar and basil. Cocktail Recipe: All That is Good 🇮🇪 1.5 oz Irish whiskey ☕️4-6 oz brewed coffee 🧊 2 sugar cubes (2 tsps) 🐮 3-4 oz lightly whipped heavy cream Preheat a heat-proof glass or coffee mug using hot water. Once warm, discard water. Add sugar to the warmed mug. Add coffee and stir until sugar is dissolved. Add whiskey and stir to incorporate. Cocktail Recipe: The Fizzy Fig 1 (750-mL) bottle Prosecco or sparkling wine 4 oz elderflower liqueur 2 oz fig syrup* 4 oz club soda 2 figs, sliced for garnish 8 rosemary sprigs, for garnish *Fig syrup .5 cup granulated sugar .5 cup water 2 tbsp fig spread In a small saucepan over medium heat, add sugar, water, and fig spread. Stir occasionally, until slightly thickened and sugar is dissolved, 5 to 7 minutes. Once cool, store in an air-tight container and keep refrigerated In a large pitcher, combine Prosecco, elderflower liqueur, and 2 oz. fig syrup. Fill with ice. Top off with club soda. He may not have reproduced the oldest known audio recording, but this do-gooder works diligently to preserve the rich culture and heritage of DC through its music. In this episode, we sit down with Charvis Campbell, co-founder of Home Rule Records, a community-focused record store in Washington, DC. He discusses the challenges and rewards of running one of the few Black-owned record stores in the country and the importance of supporting local artists and businesses. He is also the executive director of the Home Rule Music and Film Preservation Foundation, which promotes, supports and preserves DC music and film through performance, education, and advocacy.
