Las Vegas entertainer Maren Wade, known professionally as Maren Flagg, has filed a federal lawsuit against Taylor Swift, her team, Universal Music Group, and merchandise company Bravado. Wade claims Swifts new album, The Life of a Showgirl, and its merchandise infringe on her trademarked brand, Confessions of a Showgirl. Wade, who has built her brand since 2014, argues that the similar names and structures could confuse fans, especially since the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office rejected Swifts attempt to register her mark due to similarity.
