Show Notes
Iowas statewide elections have seen their candidates file for the June primaries, with most races featuring uncontested Republican or Democratic nominees. The state auditor race, however, is heating up with Lieutenant Governor Chris Cournoyer and Iowa County Supervisor Abigail Maas vying for the Republican nomination. On the Democratic side, Taylor Wettach awaits the winner. Incumbents Brenna Bird (Attorney General), Paul Pate (Secretary of State), Mike Naig (Secretary of Agriculture), and Roby Smith (State Treasurer) are all seeking re-election without primary challenges, except for Nate Willems, Ryan Peterman, John Norwood, and Chris Jones, respectively. The filing deadline was March 13th, with challenges to nominations allowed until March 20th.
