Two Iowa soldiers, Major Jeffrey O’Brien and Sergeant Declan Coady, tragically lost their lives in an Iranian missile strike on March 1st. Both served with the Des Moines-based one hundred third Sustainment Command of the Army Reserve. O’Brien, a family man and cybersecurity expert, was remembered for his gentle spirit and humor. Coady, a brave and determined Eagle Scout, chose to deploy despite other options. Their remains return to Iowa this week, with an escort procession and funerals planned. Communities are rallying to honor them, with burial at Iowa Veterans Cemetery in Adel.
