Becky Vandermark, a police officer in Waukee, Iowa, is turning her passion for romance novels into a unique business. Shes transforming an old bus into a mobile bookstore, the Trigger Warning Book Bus, set to launch in April in the Des Moines metro area. The bus, a nod to her law enforcement job and the steamy content inside, will sell fantasy romance, realistic stories, and spicy reads. Vandermark, a former Marine, discovered books as an escape and loves how romance novels tap into our need for love and acceptance. Inside the bus, shes added vintage tin tiles, vinyl floors, and a rose trellis made from book pages. She believes central Iowa needs more romance options and is excited to spread some love and excitement through pages.
