This week, Pastor Lucy Hulme delivers a message looking through Isaiah Chapters 40-55. Looking particularly at how there is a shift in what the Israelites are given for Hope. She continues by sharing how God's promise of a savior is not something that is to be earned, yet an invitation for something greater. Now being fully in the 'Advent' season, Pastor Rob begins leading us in a teaching through Isaiah. Looking to the message of HOPE it gives to those waiting for a savior, and to us waiting for His return. How it assures believers that the promise of his arrival will be fulfilled.

Continuing in our Legacy series, Pastor Raissa Kubandi continues our teaching from Genesis 16 but highlights on the relationship between Sarai (Abram’s wife) and Hagar (Sarai’s slave). Looking at how their familial story was challenging yet took part in the Legacy that God had promised Abram.

As we enter the annual Legacy season, Pastor Rob Brendle looks to how God used Abraham to fulfill His will in Genesis. Particularly how Abraham's trust in God lead him to have the Legacy we now know today. Rob also looks to historical figure, Corrie ten Boom, and how her consistent faithfulness lead to the long-lasting legacy and safety of hundreds of Jewish people during the Nazi's control of Western Europe. In our new series, Group Chat, Pastor Rob Brendle teaches what it looks like to live in community with one another. As we live within social groups, difficulties rise between these relationships. As we are in a new series called "Church Is _____", Pastor Rob Brendle continues in Matthew 16 by focusing on particular Peter's role in the global church. By looking at scripture, we can learn that the church is HUMAN, and made to be so. Join us as we look into why this is so.

We start a new series today: Church Is _____. In Matthew 16, Jesus says, "I will build MY church...", making it clear that the Church, the global assembly of "called out ones", is PLAN A. The Church is not perfect and you can't get a clear picture of the Church by looking at one snapshot, pastor, local body or single denomination. But the Church is still Plan A.

So often in life, in order to use our relationships for credibility or validation, we prop up our own insecurity with the names of heroes and celebrities. The questions that the Pharisees asked Jesus to name drop for himself, "by whose authority are you doing these things?!" In typical Jesus fashion, He responds by simply holding a mirror up to their selfish agenda--recognition, power & wealth--the desire for credibility & validation. Jesus teaches an AUTHENTIC FAITH that relies completely on God sacrificially.

In today’s message we find Jesus radically redirecting discipleship. In just one sentence, He goes after the core issue of our human brokenness: our self-will and grasp for CONTROL. “Whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me and for the gospel will save it.”

Mark 8 finds Jesus HEALING one kind of blindness and WARNING to the disciples about another. "The physical healing of the blindman serves as a paradigm", for Jesus' teaching about the blindness of the pharisees. Join us today as we look to see if there are any blindspots in our own lives or places where we need Jesus to apply some "corrective lenses".

Today's discussion, looking through Mark chapters 5 & 6, leads us to a "tale of two cities"...one driven by fear, the other by faith. Pastor Rob teaches us to look at Scripture through the lenses of "What does it say?" (SPECIFIC text) "What does it mean?" (CONtext) and "What does it mean for me? (personal DISCOVERY)".

Newsflash: The world wants you back! As a Believer, you were rescued out of the world and the world desperately wants to re-assimilate you into its ranks. But we can't avoid re-assimilation or simple regression just by wishing or believe it so. Instead, it's only because we prioritize, on purpose. Today we study the significance of prioritizing intentionality. "Look carefully, then, how you walk...making use of the time" (Eph 7:15-16)

We have an unfortunate tendency to put ourselves at the center of our story. Like pre-Copernicus astronomers, we bristle against any notion that suggests that our world isn't the center of the universe. This is not the way Jesus teaches us the sacredness of others. To grow in spiritual & emotional maturity, we must learn to see ourselves clearly & grasp our place in HIS story and the story of others in ours. Join us as we explore this truth together.
