Show Notes
Ali Duncan, a former police officer, transformed her yoga passion into Urban Sanctuary, an inclusive studio in Denvers Five Points neighborhood. After studying yoga in India and Egypt, she found mostly white-dominated studios, leading her to create a space where everyone feels seen, especially Black and brown communities. Yoga at Urban Sanctuary is about more than poses; its about healing trauma, building connections, and addressing real-world issues. The studio has grown to include a second location, online classes, and coaching for emotional wellness. In 2022, Duncan bought the building, which has a rich history. Urban Sanctuary provides a safe haven for anyone processing lifes challenges, blending movement, community, and honest conversations.
