Show Notes
Fifty-two-year-old Judd Bronson from Colorado received North Americas highest civilian heroism award for rescuing a woman and her two dogs from a freezing pond in January 2025. Bronson used a stick to pull the woman and her dogs to safety, just as first responders arrived. The woman, Tara Vreeland, had a body temperature of 83 degrees, but she and her dogs recovered without injury. Bronsons quick actions saved Vreelands life and earned him the Carnegie Hero Fund medal, joining eighteen others recognized for similar acts in 2025.
