Show Notes
Florence Sdanowich, a 90-year-old Colorado resident, fell victim to a locksmith scam. After calling Fortis Locksmith to check her apartment door lock, she was charged nearly $4,000 for a new lock, far exceeding the expected $160. Her daughter, Stacy, was devastated and felt guilty for taking a vacation. CBS Colorado investigated the company, found it had no website or real phone line, and was formed just last December. The company eventually sent a full refund check and dissolved the next day, bringing relief to Florence.
