Show Notes

Denvers St. Patricks Day Parade returns this Saturday, marking its sixty-fourth year as the largest west of the Mississippi. Over ten thousand marchers will parade through downtown, starting at nine thirty a.m. at nineteenth and Wynkoop streets. The procession will head left onto seventeenth Street, then turn to Blake Street, ending at twenty-seventh and Blake in the Coors Field parking lot. Expect pipe bands, step dancers, floats, and more, with all sorts of groups joining in. The parade celebrates Irish heritage and draws huge crowds. Arrive early for a good viewing spot, especially south of twentieth Avenue on Blake Street. Dress in layers for the chilly morning start. Free parking opens at seven a.m. in the Coors Field structure. Volunteers and sponsors keep the tradition alive, and you can sign up or donate online to help out.
