Big Boy Number 4014 Embarks on Historic Coast-to-Coast Tour - The worlds largest steam locomotive, Big Boy number 4014, begins its first-ever coast-to-coast tour, coinciding with Americas 250th birthday. The western leg starts in Cheyenne, Wyoming, with public displays in Roseville, California, and Ogden, Utah. Built in the 1940s, this 1.2 million-pound beast hauled wartime goods and logged over a million miles before retiring in 1961. After restoration, its the only running Big Boy out of the 25 ever made. The eastern leg details to follow.
