Dekmantel Podcast 002 - Solar

We are using our next podcast to shine a light on someone we predict is rightfully about to go to the next level, on a global scale. Already a legend on his local San Francisco scene, Solar has been laying down well informed house and techno sets for 15 plus years. As co-founder of the Sunset Parties - West Coast events that happen outdoors and see big names play on a regular basis - Dixon was so impressed with Solar’s skills he invited him on tour with the Innervisions crew. Now he has guested on Tim Sweeney’s Beats in Space and impressed at places like Trouw and Berghain, so we are delighted to have him. The podcast he has given us is far more than a collection of dance tunes. It is a broad and brooding ride through many different types and tempos of analogue house, acid, sci-fi sounds and cosmic atmospheres. The mixing is standout, too, because some of these transitions simply should not be possible, but Solar makes them seem easy. Brave and accomplished in equal measure, it’s a testament to his record collection, but also to his ability to join desperate dots between many different sounds in plenty of style.
