Show Notes
This episode explores the new USA Fencing and Absolute Fencing Gear Refurbishment program, which aims to provide fencing equipment to underserved communities.
The program begins at the October North American Cup (NAC) in Atlantic City, where attendees can donate gently used gear. The program encourages fencers to donate items like fencing bags, blades, chest protectors, electrical cords, gloves, jackets, lames, masks, underarm protectors, weapons, pants, and scoring equipment at designated tables during national events. Donations are not limited to this list.
The cutoff time for donations at the October NAC is 1 p.m. on the last day of the competition. For those unable to attend, gear can also be mailed to Absolute Fencing (shipping costs are the donor's responsibility).
