Ep 15 Let's Talk About School Shootings

E

While driving home from work last week Friday morning, my daughter called to tell me that the school(s) were closing because of a school shooting threat. After having a few conversations with my kids, it got me thinking, what is the process schools are taking to protect the teachers, the kids and the fears that us parents have in situations like this. In less frightening and more upbeat news, how far is too far when converting your home into a bachelor pad? Do you man cave up every room... or just a few? It's probably best to allow the children to keep their rooms the way that they are... or maybe let them update them to their own tastes. When dating just isn't working out... maybe it's best to back burner that for a while and just enjoy life the way it is. Which is what I did... and am doing. Also these guys.. the guys you're listening to will soon be meeting up after almost 8 years of knowing each other! This discussed and so much more! (Like Dan's rather odd ability to open his throat and swallow his food in an extremely unhealthy way)

Father 45 returns to the show, and after accepting the fact that he had to listen to me podcast with another podcaster, we get down and dirty with a few topics that should grab your attention! What do you do when your 8 year old watches IT while staying at a friends house? During this discussion we discuss what Horror movie broke our innocence. We want to know what horror movie broke yours too! We also discuss the film "Show Dogs", in theaters now. Is it grooming your children to accept sex abuse, or was it just a bad attempt at toilet bowl humor gone wrong? Our advice, whether you see the movie or not.... talk to your kids about "Good Touch" and "Bad Touch". In other news, we discuss the new fade sweeping our children's lives. Hammocking. That's right. Ep 13 Love Bites to Dog Bites

E

This episode is a cross over from Part 1 of the 7 Days a Geek Summer Movie Preview Episode. In this Ep, Neighbor Cole joins me to discuss a weekend of epic proportions. We discuss the struggles of being in a relationship after divorce. Introducing someone to your kids. The excitement of it all... and during that... having your tiny dog attack that person to the point that you make a mad dash to the Emergency Room!!!! It's amazing how your weekend can start off so surprisingly well, and then switch gears in another surprising direction! The back half of the episode is the Fallout of this whole weekend. The puppy police show up to ground the dog. Another bite happens which causes this family to lose a pet. A cooking mishap almost causes a late night fire, which reminds me to remind you to check your smoke alarms!

Ep 12: No Phone Zones & More One on One Time

E

In this episode Dan gloats about the Eagles winning the Super Bowl and recalls how much work actually goes into creating themed bedrooms. Each of us are dating now... but how much should we actually reveal? On the parenting front we discuss 2 important topics. 1.) Our kids aren't just craving for one on one time, but they're asking for it. How do 2 single working fathers give such an important need to their children? Can they? 2.) Addiction to our smartphones, tablets and other devices. They are ruining relationships large and small. This isn't anything new, but we take a look at it from our family's point of view. We end with several embarrassing stories told by parents... that their kids are responsible for. Then we share a few of our own. Thanks so much for listening.
