Today’s @dvgpodcast hero is Patty Schemel! @pattyschemel was Death Valley girls original drummer and is Larry's sister! Patty is a hero for so many reasons, she made a book, a movie, was the drummer of one of the most iconic bands of all time, is an amazingly funny person, is a ridiculously good and strong drummer, and is also a mom to Bea!!
Here we discuss what it was like to grow up as an outsider and gay in small town America in the 70s, and how seeing Bowie on Saturday Night Live in a dress changed her life, and probably many others as well.
Also what it was actually like to have been in Hole , a band that brought Patty her dream of playing drums in a rock band and took her all around the world! We also talk about the new art she’s making and new music she is playing.
