For obvious reasons, Jarvis has a very personal take on the morality and ethics of capital punishment. There were times when he tried to rise above and escape the cradle to prison pipeline, but the gravitational pull was too strong to resist. Though only 6.5 percent of Californians are black, African Americans make up 29 percent of the prison population and 36 percent of those condemned to death.
