Sierra Nevada Corporation Expands Aviation Innovation Center in Ohio, Boosting Defense Work and Jobs

Sierra Nevada Corporation (SNC) has recently expanded its aviation innovation center in Vandalia, Ohio, by adding two new hangars, bringing the total to four. This expansion, which took effect on April 1st, will significantly enhance SNCs ability to maintain and modify defense aircraft, directly supporting Wright-Patterson Air Force Base and national security efforts across the country.

The new hangars will be used to perform maintenance and modifications on defense aircraft, such as the C-seventeen and KC-forty-six tankers, further strengthening SNCs relationship with its main client at the base. This expansion is part of phase two of SNCs buildout, with two more phases planned to keep the Miami Valley at the forefront of defense innovation.

The expansion is expected to create new jobs and will employ thirty-six percent of SNCs workforce, who are retired veterans. Local leaders, including Governor Mike DeWine, have praised the move as a commitment to Ohios future and a testament to SNCs core business in aerospace and defense.
