Three Ohio Air National Guard members, including Captain Curtis Angst of Columbus, Captain Seth Koval of Stoutsville, and Technical Sergeant Tyler Simmons of Columbus, tragically lost their lives during Operation Epic Fury in Iraq. Their KC-135 refueling plane crashed in friendly airspace, resulting in six fatalities. Captain Angst was a 2014 graduate of Wilmington City Schools and son of a district staff member. Flags are flying at half-staff to honor their service and sacrifice, as investigations into the crash continue.
