Ohios Department of Transportation is embarking on its largest construction season yet, investing $3.4 billion in 977 projects across the state. District seven, covering nine Miami Valley counties, will see 69 projects, including ongoing I-75 work in Dayton. Since 2019, ODOT has spent $15.5 billion on over 6,000 projects, with 174 new safety upgrades this year. Work zone safety is a priority, as last year saw 4,435 crashes, 34% involving workers, resulting in 21 fatalities and 96 serious injuries. Key projects in southwest Ohio include I-75 widening and bridge rehabs, with most completion by 2029.
