Country Joe McDonald, known for his iconic performance at Woodstock, has passed away at 84. As the lead of Country Joe and the Fish, he influenced the Bay Area psychedelic rock scene. His anti-war anthem at Woodstock became a protest symbol, and he dated Janis Joplin. McDonald, born to leftist parents, served in the Navy and formed his band in Berkeley.
