The NCAA Tournament begins Friday and Mississippi State isn't in the 64 team field. So the reigning National Champions can't defend their 2021 title. Bulldog fans can still savor the memories of last summer while Coach Chris Lemonis rebuilds a roster for 2023 by hitting the NCAA transfer portal hard. A retrospective on the '21 Champions airs June 14 on ESPN. Meanwhile Mississippi State football is keeping an ear cocked for word from the SEC spring meetings about future scheduling. Among so many topics for debate, the call to stay at eight league games or add a ninth is of most interest to fans and concern to schools who count on bowl games and bowl revenues.
