Fünf Gefährten, 100 Schlittenhunde und 3000 Kilometer durch die Antarktis. Es war das Jahr 1915 und es sollte die großartigste Polarfahrt ihrer Zeit werden. Doch Shackletons Schiff "Endurance" wurde vom Eis zerdrückt. Unter unsäglichen Mühsalen überlebte die Besatzung.
