Francis Masson, Pflanzensammler für die Britischen Krone, verschifft in den 1770ern einen Palmfarn von Südafrika nach London. Noch heute steht das Gewächs in den Kew Gardens. Die Kübel-Pflanze wächst zwar nur rund zwei Zentimeter pro Jahr. Muss sie umgetopft werden, rückt schweres Gerät an. Autorin: Prisca Straub
