Er wurde in die "Rock and Roll Hall of Fame aufgenommen" und gewann zwei Grammy Awards. Frank Zappa selbst aber meinte, für nichts, was er getan hätte, sei er so berühmt geworden, wie auf dem Klo zu sitzen. Und so hängt er auf dem Lokus sitzend mittlerweile in der National Portrait Gallery in London.
