"Undine", die erste romantische deutsche Oper, mit einer weiblichen Titelheldin, die sich nicht so einfach als schönes "Blondchen" herumschubsen lässt. E. T. A. Hoffmann Zauberoper gilt in erster Linie wegen ihres Sujets als romantisch - die Musik ist noch stark von der Klassik geprägt.
