Written In Blood: Did a murder victim write her killers name in her own blood?
This case taught me so much about blood spatter analysis. Karen Pannell was found stabbed to death in her own home by her ex-boyfriend, Tim Permenter. Above her body, written in Karen's blood, was the name Roc, another of Karen's ex-boyfriend's name. Did she write this or was someone else trying to get away with murder?

Show Notes
Many years ago, I was very fascinated with the TV show Forensic Files and all of the new science that was being shown to the public for the first time. As I watched the story of this murder, I learned about how blood spatter analysis helps solve crimes and helps catch killers. When Karen Pannell is found murdered, with the name Roc written above her on the wall in her own blood, the police think they have their killer: Karen's ex-boyfriend Roc Herpich but forensic scientists make a discover that will change the course of the case and it all has to do with dry time on blood spatter. This was breaking science back in 2003 and remains fascinating even today.
