The Toolbox Killers: The horrific torture murders of Lawrence Bittaker and Roy Norris
Serial killers are rare but there is something even more rare: A duo of serial killers. Lawrence Bittaker and Roy Norris both had terrible childhoods full of abuse and trauma but what they did later in life proves these monsters were born bad. The two meet in prison and make a plan to start taking victims as soon as they are released. They buy a van they name Murder Mac and they prepare a secluded location to commit their horrific crimes. Women and girls begin to go missing in the Redondo Beach and Hermosa Beach areas of California. The police cannot catch the killers and do not know, that these women and girls are being horrifically tortured before being raped and murdered. Of all the serial killers I have studied, The Toolbox Killers, who used tools to torture their victims, have to be two of the most sadistic.

Lucinda Lynn Schaefer, Andrea Joy Hall, Jackie Doris Gilliam, Jacqueline Leah Lamp and Shirley Lynette Ledford all lost their lives in horrific and shocking murders at the hands of Lawrence Bittaker and Roy Norris who met in prison. If it weren't for a good citizen, a former inmate named Joseph Jackson, the killers would have taken many more victims. Paul Bynam was assigned to the case and when the killers are finally caught, Paul takes his own life stating in a ten page suicide note that he cannot bear the thought of Lawrence or Roy ever being released and that the case ruined his life. This is a story of two psychopaths, both diagnosed as mentally disordered sex offenders, who were let out of prison over and over and as a result, many are dead
