A documentary was being made about this remarkable man when a journalist goes missing and the police uncover shocking and disturbing information about Peter and who he really is.

As a filmmaker, Emma Smith and her crew are following genius inventor, Peter Madsen, a celebrity in his world, all is going as planned on the film. One day, Emma gets a phone call informing her that Peter has taken a journalist named Kim Wall for a dive on his submarine and Kim has now disappeared. Peter's submarine is recovered and he claims to have dropped Kim off on the dock. The police are suspicious and they begin to look into Peter's personal life. On his computer, they find snuff films and horrific depictions of violence towards women. Peter is taken into custody and tells a story that experts in the world of submarines find unrealistic and then, a torso washes up on the beach in Denmark.
