Matthew Hoffman was known as a weirdo. He acted strangely, he spent most of his time alone, and he was always in the trees around his yard. He commits a serious arson in Steamboat Springs, Colorado and does six years in prison for that crime. He returns to Ohio and begins breaking into homes. When Tina Hermann, her son 11 year old son Kody Maynard, her 13 year old daughter Sarah Maynard and family friend Stephanie Sprang go missing, a co-worker finds Tina's house covered in blood. The police find a Walmart receipt that leads them to the killer and when the police arrive at Matthew Hoffman's house, they cannot believe what they find in the living room and bathroom but what they find in the basement is even more shocking
