Kevin Jones couldn't get a hold of his girlfriend, beauty queen Nona Dirksmeyer so he went to her house. There, he found Nona murdered. He ran to his girlfriend and held her in his arms. That would turn out to be a terrible mistake. This case highlights what terrible and inept police work can do to a suspect and to the justice system.

Nona Dirksmeyer was a college student and beauty pageant participant living in Arkansas. When her boyfriend Kevin Jones couldn't get a hold of her, he went to her house where he found her murdered in her living room. Kevin was taken in for questioning and soon realized, he was a suspect. The police and the public got tunnel vision. The crime scene investigation was botched so poorly that it looked as if Kevin would be in prison for the rest of his life simply because the Russellville police department had no idea what they were doing. Kevin's defense attorneys find shocking blunders and failures of investigating officers but the prosecution is moving forward and Kevin Jones is put on trial
