We're making a shift from the conciseness that is mostly centered around the idea, specifically in the western church, that salvation is what happens to you when you die. We're now coming to understand that the ultimate intention has always been, from the Father, to make His headquarters earth, not heaven. Re-visioning of the Kingdom doesn't actually start with the kingdom - it starts first with the Father. Part of the re-visioning starts with how we view the Father in light of the person of Jesus. In this revelation, we now see orthodox soteriology not simply as we were on the wrong side, we repeated a prayer and now we're on the right side. Now that we are having some of our preconceived ideas challenged and admitting that some of our preconceptions have become misconceptions, how do we reconceptualize what we mean when we talk about the kingdom of God? Often times the Father is doing exactly what it is we've asked Him to do. However, not at all in the way we expected Him to do it and certainly not within the time frame we expected Him to do it. But now we're understanding that there's actually an invitation to be co-glorified in such a way that we begin to release our pre designed intention back into creation. We refuse to have a notion of God theologically independent of Christ. Christology is to come to an understanding of God as Christ and Christ as God. If we do not know the God that Jesus came to reveal, exclusively through the lens of Jesus, then we are in danger of adopting notions about God from areas that are inferior to the life of Christ.
