Fort Worth City Council Allocates $189K for Public Art: Unity Mural & Fire Station Sculpture
The city council has approved $189K for two public art projects in the southeast and far north neighborhoods. The first, a Unity mural at the Eugene McCray Community Center, honors Black leader Eugene McCray and is created by Dallas artist Jeremy Biggers. The second, a black long-horned ram sculpture, is inspired by Fire Station thirty-sevens patch and is in early design stages. Both projects are funded by voter-approved bonds and will be overseen by Fort Worth Public Art and the Art Commission. Community input is welcome at the Art Commissions meeting on April twentieth.
