Ben Stevenson, a ballet visionary who transformed Houston Ballet and Texas Ballet Theater into global forces, passed away at 89. Starting in 1976, he led Houston Ballet to international success and revived Texas Ballet Theater until 2022. From his roots with Britains Royal Ballet, he co-led a Washington company and created enduring works like Cinderella.
