For over 31 years, I’ve served as a preacher and teacher of God’s Word, yet there are still moments—like today—when I’m brought to my knees in financial fear. In this deeply personal reflection, I confess the real and raw battle I’ve faced: heating our modest church studio through the winter, paying mounting bills, and trusting God for continued outreach in a struggling London neighborhood. Like many of you, I’ve whispered in prayer: “Lord, how can I keep going?”
But Malachi 3:10 thunders with divine clarity:
“Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse… and test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty. “See if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven.”
This isn’t just about money. It’s about surrender. It's about learning to trust God's promises when your natural circumstances scream otherwise.
Today's devotional is an honest journey from fear to faith. I asked the Lord, “Why have I kept a little back in my back pocket?” And the answer hit me: fear. But today, I choose trust. I’m laying down anxiety about heating costs and ministry expenses. I’m declaring: “I will not fear. I will trust the Lord.”
