Psalm 91:1 — Jesus, Draw Me Into Your Midnight Shelter and Quiet Every Fear That Tries to Rise in the Dark Welcome to Daily Prayer with Reverend Ben Cooper, live from London — reaching Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, Peru, and Spain. Psalm 91:1 (NIV): “Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.” Salmo 91:1 — “Aquele que habita no abrigo do Altíssimo descansará à sombra do Todo-Poderoso.” “The Lord is my Shepherd; I lack nothing.” / “O Senhor é o meu Pastor; nada me faltará.” James 4:8 (NIV): “Come near to God and He will come near to you.” Tiago 4:8 — “Aproximem-se de Deus, e Ele se aproximará de vocês.” Jesus, as this new cycle opens in the quiet doorway of midnight, I come to You with every thought that has followed me through the day and every shadow that tries to rise as the world grows still. You are the shelter I run to, the resting place of my wandering mind, the safe covering over my heart when the night feels long. In Your presence, even silence becomes gentle. In Your shadow, fear loses its grip. In Your nearness, midnight becomes a place of peace instead of pressure. Jesus, draw me into Your abrigo, into Your sombra, into the deep covering of Your love. Let my heart settle beneath Your wings. Let every fear soften. Let every anxious breath slow. Let every hidden worry fall into Your hands. You are my Shepherd, meu Pastor, mi Pastor. You lead me into rest, not turmoil. You call me into quietness, not confusion. You calm the storms that rise in the dark. Tonight I choose to come close to You, Jesus — to trust that Your presence is enough to steady my thoughts and carry my soul. Fold me into Your peace. Hold my mind in Your strength. Surround my spirit with the assurance that You are here, that You are faithful, that You are the One who watches over me as the night unfolds. Jesus, let this midnight become holy. Let this hour become an altar. Let this beginning of Cycle 21 rise with hope, with tenderness, with the certainty that You—Jesus, Jesús, Jesus—are my refuge now and always. In the quiet shadow of Your presence, I rest. Amém. Amén. Amém.
