Psalm 4:8 — Jesus, Let Me Lie Down Tonight in Peace and Trust That You Are Watching Over Me Welcome to Daily Prayer with Reverend Ben Cooper, broadcasting from London and reaching listeners across Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, Spain, Australia, the United Kingdom, and the United States. As the night grows quiet and many of us prepare to rest, we pause together and place the end of this day into the hands of Jesus. Psalm 4:8 (NIV) says: “In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, Lord, make me dwell in safety.” Psalm 91 reminds us that those who dwell in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. As we settle into the quiet hours of the night, we remember that God’s protection surrounds us and His presence remains near. Lord Jesus, as we come to the end of this day, we bring every thought and every concern before You. Where our minds are busy or restless, bring calm and stillness. Where there are worries about tomorrow, help us place them into Your hands. Let Your peace settle over our homes tonight. Guard our families and protect those we love. Help us release the weight of this day and rest knowing that You are watching over us. Jesús, danos descanso esta noche y llena nuestros corazones con Tu paz. Jesus, dá-nos descanso nesta noite e enche os nossos corações com a Tua paz. Lord, thank You for being with us through every moment of this day. As we lie down tonight, let Your peace surround us and let our rest be secure in Your care.
