John 14:27 — Jesus, Calm My Heart Before I Sleep Tonight SCRIPTURE John 14:27 — “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”
Psalm 91:1–2 — “Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, ‘He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.’” Across Europe tonight many are lying awake under the weight of worry, intrusive thoughts, and emotional heaviness. Jesus offers a peace the world cannot give — a peace strong enough to settle the mind and carry the heart into deep rest. From London to Helsinki, Bratislava, Lisbon, Marseille, and Antwerp — may the peace of Christ calm every heart tonight. PRAYER Jesus, as night settles over Europe, we bring You every fear, every anxious thought, every burden that presses on the heart. Calm the storms within us. Speak peace into the places where the mind will not settle and where emotions rise without warning. Let Your presence fill our rooms, our thoughts, and our bodies with deep rest. Lord, for those wrestling with intrusive thoughts, overwhelming sadness, or the fear of tomorrow, wrap them in the shelter of Psalm 91. Be our refuge, our fortress, and our steady protector. Lift the heaviness from those who feel exhausted or spiritually empty. Replace worry with confidence, fear with comfort, and restlessness with the stillness of Your Spirit. Jesus, breathe Your peace over parents, carers, workers, students, the lonely, and the overwhelmed. Let this night become a holy pause — a moment where Your peace rises above every worry and carries us safely into sleep. Quiet every voice that is not from You, draw near to every troubled heart, and remind us that we are held securely in Your care.
