俄羅斯反對派領袖人物、同時也是普丁的頭號政治宿敵——納瓦尼（Alexey Navalny）——在去年12月被流放到北極圈的監獄關押，具體的狀況並不明朗；就在2月16日俄羅斯官媒突然公開宣告：納瓦尼在週五的放風散步之後就身體不適、已經死亡，官媒也表示死因還在調查中。
