Today we talk about how companies are using Artificial Intelligence (AI) in many different ways. Some companies like Spines are using AI to help authors publish books faster. Other companies, like Evolv, are using AI to create security systems that can detect weapons. However, concerns are being raised about how these companies are using people's data to train their AI. For example, authors are protesting against OpenAI because they believe the company is using their work without permission or payment. Similarly, an Australian inquiry found that Amazon, Google, and Meta are using Australians' data without being clear about how it's being used. The inquiry recommends that there should be stricter rules about how companies can use people's data for AI. There are also concerns about the accuracy of these AI systems. A lawyer was recently fined for using AI to generate fake legal cases. This shows that while AI can be helpful, it's important to use it carefully and make sure it is being used ethically and responsibly.
