Many companies are incorporating AI for internal uses, such as Honeywell, which is partnering with Google to automate tasks and streamline processes for its customers. Other companies are using AI to offer new products and services to consumers. For example, Qualcomm is developing new chips designed to make AI capabilities, like generating images and text, more powerful on Android phones. xAI, Elon Musk’s AI startup, is focusing on generative AI, recently launching an API for its flagship model, Grok. The sources also explore some of the conflicts and ethical concerns surrounding AI. For example, News Corp is suing Perplexity AI, alleging the company illegally copied its content to build its AI search engine. Meta is facing scrutiny over its decision to reintroduce facial recognition technology on Facebook. Finally, Slack research reveals a variety of employee viewpoints about AI in the workplace, ranging from enthusiastic adoption to skepticism and concerns about fairness.
