A lot of companies are trying to use AI in new ways, but making AI smarter is harder than it looks. Some experts think that just making AI models bigger won't make them better. For example, Amazon is trying to make its own AI chips to compete with Nvidia, the current leader. These new chips could make AI cheaper to use and give companies more options. At the same time, researchers are also trying to make AI models that think more like humans. One example is OpenAI's o1 model, which can break down problems into smaller steps. This new way of thinking could make AI better at solving tough problems, like math or coding. Even though AI is getting more advanced, it still struggles with complex math problems found in a new test called FrontierMath.
